HSRP Configuration

I am configuring HSRP on a 2621 across 2interfaces.

I have succesfully added the standby statements to the internal interface.

However when I add the standby ip on the second interface, I come across the following message.......

FastEthernet0/0 Group 0 active routers virtual

IP address 10.10.10.20 is different to the locally configured

address 172.16.10.10 standby timers 1 17

Where am I going wrong ?

Regards

Re: HSRP Configuration

It sounds like it is saying the standby IP isn't in same subnet as the ip address assigned to the interface.

I'm not 100% clear on what you're asking, but here goes...

I see group 0 on fa0/0 which suggests a standby group # wasn't defined.

Are you specifying a group # on the other interface?

Example:

int fa0/0

ip address 10.10.10.1 255.255.255.0

standby 1 ip 10.10.10.20

int fa0/1

ip address 172.16.10.1 255.255.255.0

standby 2 ip 172.16.10.10
