We have 2 6509's with a lot of switches hung off between both 6509's . My questions is do you need a different standby group number for each vlan that is defined or can the standby group number be the same for all interfaces on each 6509 . The general setup is switches have uplinks one to each 6509 . We currently have it setup with a different standby group number for each vlan defined , I'm just wondering if this is neccesary or can they all use the same group number .
