HSRP with ACL's

I am trying to configure HSRP with ACL's

Box: 2 x 6009 with MSFC

Multiple Vlans with HSRP (works without ACL)

Issue:

e.g

Extended ip address list <xxx>

permit ip<subnet> host 224.0.0.2 (Matches)

Extended ip address list<xxx>

permit ip host 224.0.0.2 <subnet>

Configuring for multicast allows HSRP to function however the virtual router

is not visible.

Thoughts please!

Re: HSRP with ACL's

Hi,

You can do this with an ACL and apply it to the interface inbound, if you want to explicilty permit an IP address of the interface you would have to create a lot of lists..

access-list 100 permit udp any host 224.0.0.2 eq 1985

access-list 100 permit eigrp any any

Regards
