I am a beginner and I need to know how the amount of broadcast and collision domains on a hub is calculated.

But if you meant to say switch, then each port on a switch is a separate collision domain and the entire switch is one broadcast domain.

A hub is physic layer device, and regardless of its number of ports, only have one broadcast and one collision domain.
