Re: I do not know what a CLNS client (ES) is practically?
ISO CLNS is heavily used in the Telco environments and (integrates ISIS) in ISPs where ISIS, which is different than ISO, is used for IP routing, since ISIS is encapsulated in CLNP (CLNS Network Packets). Specifically with billing and provisioning (SONET DWDM systems for example). Any CLNS host that is an end station (e.g. Does not forward CLNS packets out another interface that they came in on) will show up in "show clns neigh" as an ES (DMS Phone switches, Core Director DWDM nodes, etc). Only CLNS routing devices show up as IS adjacencies.
We have 3 identical switches configured by someone else and would like to claim some of the Gigabit ports(G1/G2/G3/G4) for use on servers. When we try to change the wiring and configuration, we run in to connectivity issues. Attached is a des...
This is actually a pretty cool feature, i didn't even know it existed until I was looking for a solution to advertise a subnet (prefix in BGP talk), only if a certain condition existed. This is exactly what conditional advertisements does
