I have a 2503 (Ethernet 0 @ 18.104.22.168) and is connected to a firewall @ 22.214.171.124 directly using a Cross cable. I have NAT setup in the firewall to translate IP addresses 126.96.36.199-153 to 188.8.131.52-184.108.40.206
I could ping the firewall and the PC behind the firewall (ie. 220.127.116.11-18.104.22.168), however, i am not able to ping using 22.214.171.124-153. I have tried using another LINUX router to replace the CISCO 2503 and it works.
I gather the problem should lies on the routing for network 126.96.36.199
hence, i configure
ip route 188.8.131.52 255.255.255.240 184.108.40.206,
You should only be able to ping one set of addresses through the PIX--the translated address. You won't be able to (or shouldn't be able to ) ping the PC's real addresses, even if you have routes to them.
