idle timeout problem

I've this problem:

I've noted that even if ethernet interface on my Cisco 801 Router is shutdown, frequently the dialer interface remain connect beyond the idle-timeout setting.

I.e. if I have setting an idle timeout of 60 sec the effective time interval before the ISDN BRI interface is disconnected is often higher (i.e. 90 sec or, in any case, three or much time higher).

I dont understand why if no packet leaves the ethernet interface that is disabled.

Is there anyone that can help me.

Thamks you.

Re: idle timeout problem

The router itself is probably sending packets that match the dialer-list and reset the timer.

Turn on debug ip packet and see what packets going out. Then either stop them or exclude them from the dialer list.
