If I have Cisco Catalyst 6500 and sup I or sup II and I wanna upgrade Power supply from 1300 W. to 3000 W. or 4000 W. Are there any issues to change this power supply? I think there is no any issue but my customer need the document to suupport, maybe from Cisco or the signature of Cisco system staffs. Thanks in advanced for every reply.

Hi,

As long as you are running at least 7.5(1), you should be fine. This is documented in the Release notes:

(do a ctrl+f for "WS-CAC-3000W")

http://www.cisco.com/univercd/cc/td/doc/product/lan/cat6000/relnotes/ol_1982.htm

Also see the following for documentation on the WS-CAC-3000W:

Hi,

Is there any specific reason why the cunstomer is looking to upgrdae the PS on the system.

Are you upgrading the line cards on the system. There should not be a problem as such.

Please use the Cisco Power calculator and show the results to your customer including the line cards and the PS that you want to select for your chassis.

Please see the below link and check if that helps.

HTH, Please rate if it does.
