IGMP and Ghost in a flat LAN

Hello All-

Looking to replace a flat (mostly) hub-based LAN. My thought is to place a 3750 standard image at the core with 2950's at the edge closets. Both support IGMP through version 3. Do I need anything more to control multicast traffic from the Ghost server to the PC's at the edge? There are no VLAN's necessitating routing, or CGMP management of multicast? Am I on track here?

Thanks!

Scott.

Re: IGMP and Ghost in a flat LAN

You need an IGMP querier even when you do not have more then one vlan. Ofcourse once you start creating multiple vlans , you will need an EMI image on a 3750 to do Multicast routing , but for a single vlan env , you will have to enable igmp querier functionality.

ip igmp snooping querier

There has to be atleast one L3 / vlan interface in an "UP" state for igmp querier to work.
