IGMP host definition ?

Hi,

Within IGMP literature what is/are the definition of a 'host' joining a multicast group ?

Is it referring to an end station i.e PC/Server or can it also include other Routers/Switches ?

Hi Phil,

That generally refers to a PC or Server running a multicast application which is join/leave based. Now, there are no protocols on routers or switches that transmit or receive multicast this way.
