ILP Controller Test fails on 3550

I have a 3550 that boots but the interfaces never come up. Upon boot, the following is seen... Is this a hardware of software issue? I am not sure how to proceed.

Initializing flashfs...

flashfs[1]: 82 files, 4 directories

flashfs[1]: 0 orphaned files, 0 orphaned directories

flashfs[1]: Total bytes: 15998976

flashfs[1]: Bytes used: 6414848

flashfs[1]: Bytes available: 9584128

flashfs[1]: flashfs fsck took 8 seconds.

flashfs[1]: Initialization complete.

...done Initializing flashfs.

Re: ILP Controller Test fails on 3550

Hi,

have you tried booting the switch manually, by entering in rommon prompt? try this optio & still if you face, try to upgrade the IOS. hope it works,

because i was facing the same issue but not with this screen, it is also while going on through these booting test, i tried booting manually it booted & for a safer side i upgraded the IOS, it worked out. i tried on 3550

Re: ILP Controller Test fails on 3550

This switch needs to be replaced, some 3550 comes wtih message "!!! WARNING: The switch is not usable !!!" which makes it easy to determine that it's toast.

I figured it was toast.... I just wanted to get some insight on it being a hardware or software issue...
