Initial Steps in Configuring Token Ring Switching

I have a 5505 with RSM & TR Modules which I want to connect to a 6509 Switch. Can anyone provide initial steps in configuring the 5505 to talk to the 6509 when the uplinks become active. TRSw will be on the 5505 with Switched Ethernet on the 6509. FYI TR Servers only on 5505 & Ethernet Servers only on the 6509. Any help, direction and advice would be appreciated.

Re: Initial Steps in Configuring Token Ring Switching

So your RSM will be routing between the TR-vlans?

I would solve this as follows: First of all create a vtp domain that spans both switches. I suppose that you use the supervisor ports as trunks. Interconnect the switches. Then define an additional vlan in the vtp domain. The purpose of this vlan is to transport routed traffic between the two switches. Configure IP on the RSM for this vlan, and on your 6509. Now you should be able to establish IP connectivity between the two switches.

When your 6509 does layer3 switching this should be sufficient.

Otherwise the RSM has to route for all ethernet vlans as well.
