Installing LMS on top of a trial version.

Hi,

I'm currently working on a project including CW2000 LMS 2.0. The customer is running on a 90 days trial version. Within the next month we need to upgrade to the licensed version. Which is the supported way of doing this upgrade:

- Installing the license.

- Installing the licensed version on top of the trial version.

- Deinstalling the trial version and start from scratch installing the licensed version (of course after all configurations has been extracted/written down).

Best regards,

Michael.

Re: Installing LMS on top of a trial version.

It seems that Cisco will support an install of the licensed version of CW2000 on top of the evaluation version.

You just need to follow the procedures for an upgrade from a previous version only in this case it will be an upgrade between identical version numbers.

I have identified the sections in the installation guides for the installed components of CW2000. This will also be in the documentation.

· CD One: Installing and Setting Up CD One on Windows 2000 and Windows NT, page 2-16.

· RME: Installing and Setting Up Resource Manager Essentials on Windows NT and Windows 2000, page 1-17.

· CM: Installing and Setting Up Campus Manager on Windows 2000 and Windows NT, page 2-5.

· RTM: Real-Time Monitor Installation Guide, page 1-3.

For RTM you need to uninstall the evaluation copy first. An upgrade utility may be available (page 1-3).

Re: Installing LMS on top of a trial version.

We just installed the fully licensed version of each application on top of eval versions. Doing this preserved all existing data. There is no external license to install.
