INTERCONNECTING TWO PORTS IN DIFFERENT VLANS WITH A CROSS-CABLE

What happens with spanning-tree when I interconnect two ports in the same switch which belong to 2 different VLANs with a cross-cable?. What will be the spanning-tree state of the two ports?.

Re: INTERCONNECTING TWO PORTS IN DIFFERENT VLANS WITH A CROSS-CA

you are bridging two vlans together. so both vlans will have same SPT root as bpdu's are exchanged between the two vlans. The state of the spt on those ports could be in any state depending on where the root is. Obviously not a good design.
