I have to connect several HP ProLiant Blade Servers to a Cat6500 based core.
Unfortunately it seems that GVRP is no longer supported on IOS 12.1(7) and up.
Any suggestions for an alternativ?

It still appears to be supported in the latest Catalyst OS, 8.1. So if you are running your 6500 in hybrid OS mode then you should still be able to configure GVRP.
If you're running in native IOS mode then I guess you're out of luck.
