Interconnection with IBM- Frame relay

Hi,

I have a customer who is presently networked with IBM 2210 routers using leased lines in a HUB and SPOKE topology.. Now he plans to replace the HUB router with a CISCO and use the IBM 2210 as the spoke routers.

He is also converting the links to FRAME RELAY.

What are the implication on interoperability?

1)I understand that we will have to configure FR encapsulation as IETF on the cisco router to connect to other vendor products.

2) I did not see any option for IETF on The IBMs.

Any help appreciated in the configurations required on the CISCO and the IBMs.

Thanks

Noel

Re: Interconnection with IBM- Frame relay

Hi,

Setting the IETF encap on the Cisco router alone should work!. To say this, i aint got experience workin on a IBM 2210, but definitely I think, that the IBM supports only the IETF standard encap. You might just want to try configuring the Cisco, and plugging both the routers, to the cloud and i guess, it should be good to go!
