Interconnection with LACP between 2 4506 and a server

How can I interconnect a single server to two Catalyst 4506 using LACP with load balancing and a single virtual IP address? Is it possible?

Yes, too some extend.

Channeling from the Server with two nic's to the two switches with LACP will not work. The switches can only build a channel

with ports on the switch locally.

What you can achieve is redundancy. In that case you have to

get a driver from your NIC/OS vendor so that the second NIC is in a kind of Hot Standby state that it will take over when

the first NIC fails.

If the goal was to achieve better bandwith then you would

need too get the links to go to both switches to be able to

channel them together.
