Interface Descriptor Blocks

I am looking for information on Interface Descriptor Blocks relative to how they relate to memory allocation. Specifically, why it is a good practice to reboot a router should a significant number of sub-interfaces be deleted via the "no interface" command.

This limit is hardware platform dependent. Check the web-site below for the actual limits based on platform and IOS release.
