Interface

How can I tell what type of link i have. I have a 100mb link that is connected to a Fastethernet 0/0 interface. I was thinking it is copper link but geting there shows it is a fiber link. How can I tell from within the router what type of WAN link is actually connected.?

Thanks

Re: Interface

Use show ver to find out what kind of interface you have. Here is the output from one of my router for example

1 Ethernet/IEEE 802.3 interface(s)

1 FastEthernet/IEEE 802.3 interface(s)

1 Token Ring/IEEE 802.5 interface(s)

1 Serial network interface(s)

A fibre link does not mean you have a gigabit link. A fibre can also be A fastethernet which will be 100meg.

For further details use show interface and that will tell you a lot about each interface.
