interfaces and chassis type in cisco routers

Is there any command that could tell me what is the Cisco part number of the interfaces and chassis in the routers? The purpose of knowing this is to create an inventory of parts.

Can anyone help?

Thanks,

Arturo Maldonado

You may have varying degrees of success using "show controllers", "show controllers cbus", "show diag" commands.

Re: interfaces and chassis type in cisco routers

You can do a snmpwalk on a router/s using the following MIBs to get the information you require ;

chassis type .1.3.6.1.4.1.9.3.6.1

card type .1.3.6.1.4.1.9.3.6.11.1.2

card desc .1.3.6.1.4.1.9.3.6.11.1.3

card serial .1.3.6.1.4.1.9.3.6.11.1.4

Create a simple shell script if you want to get details on multiple routers.

Hi Arturo,

My tip is to get CiscoWorks and use RME. This tools will give you all inventory on all your Cisco equipment. All from IOS version, down to interface S/N and hardware.

Hope this will help you
