Can you paste us a copy of the sh run and sh start configuration, specially the interfaces config.

Thanks

here is the sh run

sh run

Building configuration...

Current configuration : 371 bytes

!

version 12.2

service timestamps debug uptime

service timestamps log uptime

no service password-encryption

!

hostname Router

!

memory-size iomem 25

ip subnet-zero

interface FastEthernet0

no ip address

speed auto

interface Serial0

no ip address

shutdown

ip classless

no ip http server

line aux 0

line vty 0 4

no scheduler allocate

end

Ok... that's the sh run and clearly states that your interfaces should be up since you haven't issue a shut at least not on the fa0. Now check the following

1. issue sh ver... and verify that the config-register is set on 0x2102. if not

revert it with the config-register 0x2102 on conf mode.

2. issue the sh start command and verify that the fa0 is not shutdown. if it is issue the copy run start command.

Hope this help... and remember there shouldn't any other explanation to "admin shut down" interfaces other than a shutdown command issued somewhere : )

Hope this help... i'll be waiting for your feedback

Worked Thanks
