you can use the ´show interfaces fastethernet´ command for the port where your user is connected to, check for input/output errors, or excessive collisions. Also, make sure that the port is configured with ´spanning-tree portfast´.
You could also try to connect the user to another port, to check if the problem persists, as well as changing the cable and/or the NIC of the user´s machine...
In addition to GPs post would also suggest to check out for show logs in your switch if you have enabled it over there in your switch or else check in ur syslog server if u have already one runnign out
It will give u the possible reason for the intermittent disconnections...
