I have a Cisco 17xx connected to an Internet frame circuit. Behind the router I have a Checkpoint/Nokia firewall. Behind the firewall I have a 3620 router. When the Internet circuit goes down, I want the traffic destined for the Internet to go over a completely different router. How can I get the 17xx to send out routing info that the interface is down. The info would pass thru the firewall to the 3620 and possibly distributed through EIGRP? Any suggestions?
You may be able to configure your firewall to pass EIGRP (or whatever) through between those two routers. Otherwise you could setup dynamic routing between the internet router to the firewall (RIP?) and firewall to the 3620. In this way the firewall would pass along the routing information to either side.
