I have a very simple question. When you do a "show int" command, are the indented values directly under the line that reads "Five minute output rate..." the values for the last five minutes, or a total since the counters were last cleared?
I have heard different answers from different people.
Thanks

It says what it means to say: Five minute output rate..
If you check this value say, with a five minute interval, whilst running a process, you will definitively see the changes.
When issuing a clear interface xxx, it clears the counters, and the history records, affecting specially the total inbound, total outbound, errors, drops, etc. But the "five minute..."is for the last five minutes.

the indented values directly under the line that reads "Five minutes output rate" are not related to the five minute interval rather they are the total since the counters were last cleared..
