IOS 12.1 compatibility

Please advise how to determine valid match of bootstrap version and IOS version. I need to know what ver of bootstrap I have to have on the 25xx router to make it work with IOS 12.1

Hi,

Firstly it is not that the IOS version requires x.xx BootROM its the hardware that requires it and thus creates a dependancy for the SW, so basically 12.1 required 16 MB flash (2x8 MB flash SIMMS).

The 2500 requires a min bootROM version of 9.14(9) or later to support the 8MB flash SIMM.
