Native IOS is the way to go if it has all the features you need. Yes, we are coming out with newer features in both CAT OS and IOS

Re: IOS 6500 Native Mode

New software features arrive in Native IOS first.

New hardware is supported by CatOS first.

In the wiring closet / with Sup1a, CatOS is probably going to be the place to be, 48 port 10/100/1000 support etc.

You 'roadmap' isn't what Cisco product managers and TMEs are saying.

They're saying that core and data center features should show up in Native first and that wiring closet and L2 features should appear first in Hybrid. The plan is to get closer to feature parity and that new features in the two different 'trains' should be ported in a couple of quarters.

Cisco have very long quarters.

(I'm waiting for 6548-GE-TX support on native)
