IOS capability of application accounting

Hi everybody,

do anyone knows if is there any IOS feature that by itself or requiring some additional tools allows to create accounting records of application usage?

That is, do someone knows how can I enable application usage (http, smtp,...) accounting on a router without the use of a network probe?

Thanks to all.

Juan-Pablo

Netflow is what you need. It tracks flows (sessions) between hosts examining the IP Port type.

The usage of NBAR protocol discovery on the interfaces involved would be an easier solution. The problem is that you only will be able to track the protocols supported by NBAR.
