IOS Change control

Hi

If I access a router, and, in IOS use the 'show the running config' command, is there a quick method I can use to compare this to the start-up config to ensure that when the router reloads it comes up with the correct settings?

The current method I use is a quick check by issuing the 'Reload in' command which will prompt me to save changes. I then use the 'Reload cancel' . if there areany changes I copy the configs out to a TFTP server and compare them using a text editor.

Any suggestions would be appreciated

Brian

Re: IOS Change control

Hello Brian,

There is no IOS command to compare the startup versus running configurations.

You may use Resource Manager Essentials (part of CiscoWorks) to do that if you like.
