IOS for a C6500/Sup720 switch with SSH 3DES

I would like to upgrade the IOS software of a C6500/Sup720 switch. The switch is running on a 12.2.(17d)SXB1 version, and when I use the IOS Upgrade Planner in order to find a proper version, this one does not match with all of my needs.

My features are : IP w/ SSH 3DES AND a version ealier than the 12.2(18)SXE release because I want be able to configure more than 1 SPAN source port per session in the "both" mode (as it's mentionned in your following link : http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/switches/ps708/products_configuration_guide_chapter09186a0080160a5a.html#wp1036881 - Chapter Local SPAN, RSPAN, and ERSPAN Session Limits.)

TIA

Re: IOS for a C6500/Sup720 switch with SSH 3DES

Hi Malik,

I'm sorry, I had understood that you wanted a version earlier than 12.2(18)SXE, but I got it now.

The naming conventions for IOS releases changed with version 12.2(18)SXE. You can review these changes here:

http://www.cisco.com/univercd/cc/td/doc/product/lan/cat6000/122sx/ol_4164.htm#wp2578461

That said, Let's look at 12.2(18)SXF. The equivalent feature set would be the "IP Services" Feature set + SSH.

Here's the hotlink to the section of the release notes with the various versions of this image:

http://www.cisco.com/univercd/cc/td/doc/product/lan/cat6000/122sx/ol_4164.htm#wp2579923

There are three versions of the IP services feature set of 12.2(18)SXF:

s72033-ipservicesk9_wan-mz.122-18.SXF - IOS IP SERVICES SSH

s72033-ipservicesk9-mz.122-18.SXF - IOS IP SERVICES SSH LAN ONLY

s72033-ipservices_wan-mz.122-18.SXF - IOS IP SERVICES

Based on what you described, s72033-ipservicesk9_wan-mz.122-18.SXF seems like the best bet, but please refer to the feature set descriptions in the release notes to ensure that has everything you need.

HTH,

Bobby

Re: IOS for a C6500/Sup720 switch with SSH 3DES

Hi Malik,

Per the Release notes:

http://www.cisco.com/univercd/cc/td/doc/product/lan/cat6000/122sx/ol_4164.htm#wp1693836

There are images that have IP w/SSH and 3DES in the 12.2(18)SXD train, for example. I've checked and They are on CCO. Make sure you have the proper permissions in your CCO account to download crypto images.

HTH,

Bobby

Re: IOS for a C6500/Sup720 switch with SSH 3DES

Thanks for your reply bobby,

Sorry, I wasn't clear enough, as mentionned in this document: http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/switches/ps708/products_configuration_guide_chapter09186a0080160a5a.html#wp1036881 - I need a Release 12.2(18)SXE or later releases that allow me to configure more than one port (128 max) as egress or "both" source in a SPAN session.

The problem is that when i want to choose a release 12.2(18)SXE or later, I don't find images that have IP w/SSH and 3DES too.

TIA
