am not so clear about the ff.
1. in a pure ios environment (6500) in sup2/msfc2, it was stated that it is using a bundled image. Does this mean, the same ios resides on both the sup2 and the msfc2?
2. how can we check the os (6500) on the standby sup2 and msfc2?

Yes..It is a bundled image which resides on either Sup's bootflash or slot0:. Both the SP and RP use this image to boot
Unfortunately, there is no way to check for standby Sup software version since it is not fully booted. Make sure it has a valid file to boot from and a correct bootpath.

1. you mean theres nothing on the msfc2 at all?
2. how could i make sure it has a valid file to boot from and a correct bootpath if it was not fully booted as u stated?
thx.

There is nothing needed on the MSFC2 bootflash, but it is a good idea to keep bootldr image on the MSFC2 bootflash(just incase if you decide to back to Hybrid someday). For 6500's with MSFC1, bootldr is a requirement.
You can issue a dir slavesup-bootflash: to make sure you have a valid image on the standby Sup. You can issue a "sh bootvar" to check for bootvariables
