Trying to update a router's IOS...
Got in to flash: and "del c3825..." command to make room for new 32mb IOS. Remembered this was probably a bad idea afterward when I think it would have asked if I wanted to delete.
Anyhow,
copy tftp flash:
Will tftp copy over 32mb? Or do I have to use FTP?
And once I get it in flash:, what is the command to set it as the active IOS?
boot..?
Any other steps I'm missing?
Thanx for any tips, it's been a while

Hi Friend,
I will recommend you to go for ftp instead of tftp. FTP should be preferred for large file transfer.
Also incase you go for tftp do not go with cisco tftp server and prefer solaris wind or something else.
Look at the link for upgrade procedure also.
http://www.cisco.com/warp/public/130/sw_upgrade_proc_ram.shtml
The command to set the boot path is
boot system flash:
Have a look at the link for boot system command
HTH, if yes please rate the post.

Hello Ankur,
Thanx for the info. I ended up using some third party TFTP server and everything worked fine. Out of habbit, I deleted the current IOS from flash: before uploading the new one, thinking I had to make room.
Turns out I didn't have to, so that just caused some worry when I first hit "reload." 8)
Everything worked fine though. boot system flash: was the main thing I was looking for. Thanx again

Really depends on which tftp client you have , we still use tftp with no problems even with these humongous 48 meg Sup 720 files they have now . They need to work on this , the code is getting as bloated as microsofts stuff...
