IOS Versions

Hi all,

Just a few quick newbie questions to see what the best process is, when loading a new image onto a WS-C2950C-24 switch??

Should the old image be deleted first?

Is tftp or using the CLI the better method?

Do I use the .bin or .tar image?

As you can probably guess, I have not done this before, lol

Any ideas welcome, thanks in advance

Re: IOS Versions

You dont have to neccessarily delete the old IOS unless you run out of space. Leave the old IOS intact until you upgrade to newer IOS. If you are comfortable using CLI, use it. You'll be using TFTP in CLI also. You'll need the .tar file if you want web management capabilities. The following page should help you
