ip default-gateway command on cluster member

I am doing clustering using Catalyst 2950s. All is working well but my question is why do I get an ip default-gateway 10.225.226.192 command on my member switches whenever I add them to the cluster? Where is this command comming from? My commander ip address is 192.168.100.1.

Thanks

Re: ip default-gateway command on cluster member

The function of the Cluster Commander Switch, is to manage switches who have been designated as members of the cluster, and therefore the Commander switch assigns a virtual IP address and default gateway (dynamically, much like a dhcp server does) to a client device. When the Commander Switch assigns a virtual IP address to a Cluster Member Switch, it assigns one in the range of 10.x.x.x
