Recently i configure my switch for multiple VLANs and a DHCP Server PC. DHCP Server is in VLAN 2, and the hosts are in VLAN 3 and VLAN 4, ive configure ip helper on VLAN 3 and VLAN 4 but still all hosts can't resolve ip address from DHCP server.
ip helper 192.168.1.17 (also the DHCP address /28)
vlan 1 ip address: 192.168.1.14 255.255.255.240
vlan 2 ip address: 192.168.1.30
vlan 3 ip address: 192.168.1.46
vlan 4 ip address: 192.168.1.78
what did i miss, or my mistakes in the configurations?
Minor correction: you typed interface vlan 2 when you meant to type interface vlan 3. Otherwise I believe that your comments and suggestions are correct.
As others have suggested if you would show us the actual configuration of all of these interfaces we would be better able to evaluate the situation (for example are there any access lists configured which could affect things).
It seems to me that if the configuration of helper-address is correct then one possibility to consider is that there might be a problem with the configuration of the DHCP PC. Does it have correct configuration of the individual scopes for each subnet?
This is actually a pretty cool feature, i didn't even know it existed until I was looking for a solution to advertise a subnet (prefix in BGP talk), only if a certain condition existed. This is exactly what conditional advertisements does
