Can I have one side of a T1 link be ip pim sparse-mode and the other side be ip pim sparse-dense-mode ?

I think this should work. Sparse-dense mode configures the interface for both. If a particular group is in dense mode, the interface is configured to be in dense mode, and if the group is in sparse mode, the interface is configured to be in sparse mode.
