Is there a way to encapsulate frame relay into ip, ppp or something else on an ethernet port? The data would be transmitted then to the internet (I don't know what this is... dsl, cable, T1...) and then received in like manner at the other end.

What is the application you are trying to make work?

You can encapsulate IP in IP packets, just like IP rides over frame relay.

For example, if you have:

FR------Internet------LAN

You could setup a GRE tunnel between the routers. IP packets that come in the FR link would then get encapsulated in the GRE packets and get de-encapsulated (unencapsulated?) on the other router. This would be a way to avoid NAT in this kind of environment.

Or are you trying to do something else?

I have VoFR that must remain VoFR, but it must be transmitted over the internet. It goes into 3rd party voice equipment, which is why it must remain VoFR.

Basically:

FR------Internet------FR

Is this type of GRE supported on 2600/3600?
