ip-prec mpls-experimental-field, dscp

hi, my question:

if i have set a certain ip-prec value in an ip-paket and forward this frame over a mpls cloud then the pe-router will copy this ip-prec value into the mpls-header´s experimental field - right ?

is this also true if i set the dscp-field instead of ip-prec ?

does the mpls-headers exp field has enough place for the dscp and if yes is this copied automatic ??

thanks for answer

You are right. By default the IP precedence bits from the IP header are copied in the MPLS exp bits.

The MPLS exp bits field is only three bit long so only the first 3 bits of the TOS field (ip precendence bits) are copied.

Hope this helps,
