IP precedence treatment

Will a packet that is marked with a 5 get better treatment on egress than a packet marked with a lower packet without any extra configuration, such as a policy map, on an interface?

Re: IP precedence treatment

It would depend on the type of interface, a serial interface running Weighted Fair Queuing (the default on slow speed serial lines) would take the IP Precedence into consideration. All other interfaces are FIFO (First In First Out) by default and would not take the IP Precedence into account without further configuration.
