IP route cache or CEF

Hello all ,

We have a network based on cisco equipment. Our local lan is designed in a Core , Distribution , access hierarchy. Core and Distribution are Cat 6509 and the access switches are 5000. The network holds about 80 devices. All devices are connected with each other by Gigibit fiber optic cables. My Q:

Should i configure IP CEF or IP route Cache on the distribution and core MSFC´s ?

Thanks,

Maurice

Re: IP route cache or CEF

You can use CEF in the core and distibution layers if you want high performance. Implementing CEF at the network core provides the performance and scalability needed to respond to continued growth and steadily increasing network traffic.
