IP Routing between two networks

I have a Cisco 2600 with an ip addr of 66.178.47.99 255.255.255.248 configured on ethernet 0/0, while ethernet0/1 has an address of 10.1.180.102 255.255.252.0

my problem is that while i can ping a vsat modem with ip address 66.178.47.97 connected to e0/0 from the router, i am unable to ping same from a PC with ip address of 10.1.180.103 (connected to e0/1).

from the same router i can also ping the PC.

Thanks in advance!

Did you set the default gateway in your PC to 10.1.180.102?

Thanks, i tried it over the night but got the same results...

So i configured another PC with 66.178.47.101 and connected it to e0/0 66.178.47.98 and tried to ping from the 1st PC across to the second and to my surprise it replied. but i just removed the cross over cable from the PC and inserted it into the VSAT modem 66.178.47.97 but it began to time out.

I also changed the gateway on my 10.1.180. PC to 66.178.47.98 but the modem still kept mute.

could it be the modem or is there any other thing i should do?

thanks a million 4 ur help.

Unfortunately, I don't know anything about your modem. Is there anything that is configurable other than the IP itself? Is it yours or a service provider's?

are u able to ping e0/0 interface from PC .

Do a traceroute to the IP os ur modem .

Also can u configure IP on the modem with some GUI .

What is the gateway on modem .

regards,

Hey! Thank you all for running to my aid!!! Sorry, the problem is actually from the service provider!

Actually while i was still on it i configured a PC with the same ip address as the modem and i could ping it. And when i put the same cable to the modem it failed to reply, so i called the service provider and they told me they had disabled routing on the modem for security purposes.

Thanks a million for your support...
