Thanks, i tried it over the night but got the same results...
So i configured another PC with 22.214.171.124 and connected it to e0/0 126.96.36.199 and tried to ping from the 1st PC across to the second and to my surprise it replied. but i just removed the cross over cable from the PC and inserted it into the VSAT modem 188.8.131.52 but it began to time out.
I also changed the gateway on my 10.1.180. PC to 184.108.40.206 but the modem still kept mute.
could it be the modem or is there any other thing i should do?
Hey! Thank you all for running to my aid!!! Sorry, the problem is actually from the service provider!
Actually while i was still on it i configured a PC with the same ip address as the modem and i could ping it. And when i put the same cable to the modem it failed to reply, so i called the service provider and they told me they had disabled routing on the modem for security purposes.
This is actually a pretty cool feature, i didn't even know it existed until I was looking for a solution to advertise a subnet (prefix in BGP talk), only if a certain condition existed. This is exactly what conditional advertisements does
