ip tcp header-compression passive command is not accepted by async lines

I have recently upgaded AS5300 and C3640 routers to

IOS (tm) 5300 Software (C5300-IS-M), Version 12.3(1a), RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc1)

I have a little problem, if I enter

ip tcp header-compression passive

command to Group-Async interfaces, the command turns into

ip tcp header-compression

Thus some clients are not able to connect.

Re: ip tcp header-compression passive command is not accepted by

"passive" makes no sense for PPP sessions, this was a legacy feature from SLIP. Newer IOS's just use "ip tcp header-compression" and drop the passive.

As a work around, you can do "no encap ppp" from under the "int group-async", then add the "ip tcp header-comp passive", then add back the "enc ppp".

Now the passive keyword should show up.

Thanks, Mak.
