IP unnumbered with NAT

Hi Expert,

I'm having an ADSL (ATM) interface in my router, I'm using static public IP on my ADSL line.

Here what I intend to do,

Create a dialer interface for ADSL connection but instead of create static IP on my dialer interface, I'm ip unnumbered my VLAN1 IP address. In my LAN I created 2 VLAN interface, VLAN1 will be running public IP for my web server which without NAT, and VLAN2 used for private IP with NAT.

If my dialer interface is unnumbered to my VLAN1, which interface should I configure my "ip nat outside"? In my dialer interface or my VLAN1 interface?

Please advise, many thank's.

Rgds,

Au Yeong Shaw Voel

Re: IP unnumbered with NAT

Use "ip nat outside" on the dialer interface.

check this example of nat ouside on an unnumbered interface, its not the same as your configs, but you'll get the picture:

Hope this help,

if it does, please rate this post.
