Our network runs IP and IPX. This morning one of our 7513s CPU was spiked at 98% utilization. 50% of that was dedicated to the process "IPX Forwarder". Does anybody know the specific function of that process? We resolved several problems (none of them IPX oriented - they were domain controller and DHCP failures) and the CPU utilization dropped. Obviously IPX was doing something extra but I have not been able to find any evidence in any router or switch logs or on any Novell or NT server. Thanks.
This is actually a pretty cool feature, i didn't even know it existed until I was looking for a solution to advertise a subnet (prefix in BGP talk), only if a certain condition existed. This is exactly what conditional advertisements does
