IRB over ISDN?

Hi,

I did a test for CRB and IRB over isdn bri line. I found that it is successful for irb, but failed with irb. I have tried both legacy and dialer profile configuration, both are not successful. I can ping to the BVI ip address within the bridge group.

Any one has any idea?

Thanks a lot.

Often times complex troubleshooting issues are best addressed in an interactive session with one of our trained technical assistance engineers. While other forum users may be able to help, it’s often difficult to do so for this type of issue.

To utilize the resources at our Technical Assistance Center, please visit http://www.cisco.com/tac and to open a case with one of our TAC engineers, visit http://www.cisco.com/tac/caseopen

If anyone else in the forum has some advice, please reply to this thread.

Thank you for posting.

I seem to remember reading in the doc that irb will not work over dialup. I cannot remember exactly where, and I cannot think offhand why this should be so. Except that the bridged traffic would keep your line open most the time, and cost you a bomb.

Here it is : http://www.cisco.com/univercd/cc/td/doc/product/software/ios120/12cgcr/ibm_c/bcovervw.htm#3380

"Integrated routing and bridging is supported on all media interfaces except X.25 and Integrated Services Digital Network (ISDN) bridged interfaces."
