Does any body know why irdp need preference?for example the following diagram:
.............|-------R1----Network1
host1--|
............ |-------R2----Network2
host1 default gateway is R1, R1 and R2 is running RIP. and host1 ping Network2. so when host1 ping Network2 it will point to R1, and due to the routing table R1 will direct the traffice to R2 and use IRDP to add a static route to host1 for the destination host that host1 pings to point to R2. So it depends on routing table, because the routing table in R1 to Network2 points to R2. So why IRDP has a preference parameter?
