Is IP RTP header-compression supported on tag tag-switched link ?

Does the IP RTP header-compression have any effect when configured between two MPLS PE routers interconnected by the serial link with encapsulation PPP and configured tag-switching ip ? Does the router examine labeled packets in order to compress RTP header ?

They're completely independent.

Hi,

Rtp header compression needs IP packet to be run. But if your packet is a labeled packet , it is not an IP packet from now on , it is a MPLS packet. So RTP couldn't operate. But anabling tag switching on one interface doesn't mean that all packets will be labeled packets. Unlabeled native IP packets can also be routed through this interface consulting IP routing table not tag forwarding table. In this case RTP compression can operate.
