All,
I need to have a Level-1-2 router inject a default route (set the attached bit) always into Level 1, regardless of connections to another Level 2 area or not, kind of like "default-information originate always" in OSPF. Is this possible?

Default-information originate works with IS-IS.

Hello,
I've found that default-information originate only injects the default route into L2, and not L1. I'm replacing my L2 network with an MPLS VPN and running iBGP/eBGP. I need to inject a L1 default at the CE since my L2 connectivity is going away and the L1/L2 router no longer show attached to L2. Any ideas?
