IS-IS ?

Hi,

In which IOS version was IS-IS released ?

I am on 11.2 and when I invoke #router isis it doesn't take me into router config mode.

Cheers,

Phil.

Re: IS-IS ?

Surprisingly, it was introduced in IOS 10.0!! It looks like the feature set you are running however doesn't support ISIS, which is not that surprising....

What you need to do is find the software feature set that supports all your needs (ISIS and any other features).

Try using the software advisor tool (CCO login required) at:

http://tools.cisco.com/Support/Fusion/FusionHome.do

Hope this helps, please rate all posts.

Re: IS-IS ?

Hi Phil,

"router isis" command was first released in release 10.0 but Multiarea functionality was added in release 12.0(5)T

Have a look at this link

Re: IS-IS ?

Hi,

Unfortunately I don't have a CCO login and so cannot look at the IOS files that are available.

If any of you guys can look me up an IOS image that supports IS-IS for the 2500 series routers and is under 8 Meg then please post the file-name i.e the image name and I'll see if a friend of mine can download it. 5 points for anyone who can help :)

Cheers,

Phil.

Re: IS-IS ?

Hi Phil,

What is the exact IOS you are running as i am sure you are running IP BASE only which does not support ISIS as I checked in feature navigator.

When I checked with the feature set ENTERPRISE with 11.2 as major release as what you updated and 11.2(15) which is the start of major release the IOS name is c2500-j-l.11.2-15.bin which supports ISIS

If you get a CCO login you can verify the same usning this link

http://tools.cisco.com/ITDIT/CFN/jsp/index.jsp

Search by platform first and then enter you major release.

HTH, if yes please rate the post.
