Is it possible to disable spoofing on an ISDN BRI

We are currently trying to get HRSP working between 2 1603's. However, we can't get the ISDN basic rate interface to go down, as it is always spoofing. Is it possible to disable spoofing on the inteface, so that HSRP jumps across to the backup router.

When a BRI interface is in a UP/UP state, it will say up/up (spoofing). That is normal. To bring the interface down look at your dialer list. Something (the interesting traffic) that you are permitting is keeping the line up - eg a routing protocol, IPX etc. Do a show dialer and/or debug dialer events to see the dial reason.

Change the dialer-list to deny that traffic and permit the rest.

eg.

dialer-list 1 protocol ip list 100

access-list 100 deny eigrp any any

access-list 100 permit ip any any

Hope that helps.

Have you ever tried the 'shutdown'-command on the Bri-interface ??

Need to use "shutdown" command under the bri interface to take it out from up/up spoofing state..There is no other way.
